Description
A beautiful ancient coin pomegranate gold vermeil silver statement ring that was designed and made especially for a ‘Money’ exhibition in a museum in Athens, Greece. I was asked to design a series of different coins inspired by ancient Greece and the pomegranate was one of the three different ones I did.
The Pomegranate as a Symbol. Almost all the great religions of the world have sanctified the pomegranate and ascribed manifold meanings to it. The mythology of ancient Greece regarded this fruit as the symbol of life, marnage and rebirth in the abduction story of Persephone by Hades, the god of the underworld.
This coin was hand carved in wax and it has been cast in solid 925 sterling silver. This ring is adjustable but if you know your size feel free to contact me and I will create the ring the size you want.
